Vickie's love of fibers, wool and folk art is apparent in each of the 100+ patterns she has designed for her company Annie's Keepsakes, celebrating their 29-year anniversary in 2019!  Her unique projects have appeared in magazines across the nation and abroad.

Vickie tells us: "I have a passion for designing and creating fiber and fabric art, and love sharing my “obsession” through teaching others. There is something very healing and uplifting in working with your hands, and when you share creative energy with others, everyone wins!"

One Day Workshop

“Jared Takes A Wife”

by Bonnie Hunter

Sunday, October 10, 2021

Arrival/Check-in/Set-up from 9:00 am to 9:30 am

6-hour workshop starts at 9:30 am

Blacksburg Community Center,

Large All-Purpose Room

725 Patrick Henry Drive, Blacksburg, VA 24060

The original quilt was made as a wedding gift. Bonnie made it again in Greens, Golds and Purples and kept it for herself!

Special yardage and scraps combine to create this quilt using the traditional "Blackford's Beauty" block!

It is a great block with no inset Y seams and can be made completely from 2” strips and squares.  In class we will be learning some basic techniques from quick pieced 4-patch units to easy star points.

Anyone from a beginner on up is welcome to take this class.  This is a “power sewing” class and we hope to get many blocks in one sitting so you have something to show for your fun day at the machine.

Block size: 12"        Finished quilt size: approx 82" X 95"

Bonnie K Hunter is passionate about quilt quilting, focusing mainly on scrap quilts with the simple feeling of “making do”.  She has been featured in magazines both for her quilt patterns and articles she has written on scrap management and using that stash to its full potential.

Bonnie enjoys meeting with quilters, teaching workshops and lecturing to quilt guilds all over the world, challenging quilters to break the rules, think outside the box, and find what brings them joy. When not traveling and teaching, she spends her time piecing scrap quilts.
Life is currently in flux as plans to open Quiltville Inn, a big old Victorian house turned retreat center in Southwestern Virginia is underway.  Plans are to open in the spring of 2020.  Stay tuned!
